Global Intercession
Sometimes it feels overwhelming to know what’s happening world-wide, and not be able to support in the capacity you would like. However, we believe that there is power in that humble position. Jesus urges us to pray for people all over the world because He wants us to be a part of His plan for redemption and sending out the gospel.
How do we pray for the nations though?
The Lord’s Prayer can be both a basis for how your own prayer, or you can simply pray it directly as it’s written. “Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one” - Matthew 6:9-13 NLT
Ask the Holy Spirit for guidance. It’s easy to forget that the Holy Spirit is present when you pray. Take some time to step back and let the Spirit guide your thoughts and prayers.
Pray for the persecuted and the persecutors. Not only are we called to tolerate our enemies, but to love them. This is hard, if not impossible on our own strength. Ask God to help you to feel compassion for the persecutors, and pray for them personally. Pray for the people in need, and that they would be filled by His love and peace.
